EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH OF NEPAL EXIST FOR:

It’s more than a name it’s our vision and mission statement!
The world is our field, harvest is our function, the Bible is our foundation and the church is our family.

A. THE WORLD IS OUR FIELD

For God so loved the world … God’s heart is for the whole world, when he commissioned the disciples in matthew 28:18-20 he said to go to all nations. Our church represents over many nations and through every person not only is the USA impacted but every nation represented and beyond.

B. THE HARVEST IS OUR PURPOSE

We do not exist for ourselves but to reach out to those around us; to share the love of Christ and to bring salvation to many. We are in exciting days, when God is pouring out his spirit and we believe that many will repent and turn to Christ in these days.

C. THE BIBLE IS OUR FOUNDATION

We love the word of God: it encourages, provokes, challenges, teaches and most of all reveals Jesus to us. We back everything up that we teach from the pulpit with the Bible – it is our sure foundation.

D. THE CHURCH IS OUR FAMILY

Every person at ELCON is significant whether young or old, married or single, from the Nepal or abroad. With an extravagant goal to be the most loving church in the world, we care for all those who call evangelical lutheran church of Nepal their spiritual home and we would love you to be part of our family. With such a big vision, it can be easy to lose focus, so every year we break down our main vision into a bite size portion which helps us be sharp and set priorities.

E. OUR MISSION FIELD

Evangelical lutheran church of Nepal exists to reach this global generation with the uncompromised word of God, confirmed mightily by the power of the holy spirit, establishing believers in God’s character, releasing them into their destiny..

F. VISION FOR MISSIONS

To help equip and resource local pastors from Nepal, and northeast India and other third world and developing nations to win their villages and cities to Christ and to help them to train up others for the work of the ministry

G. TRAINING PASTORS

Evangelical lutheran church of Nepal has an active missions program which is focused on helping to encourage, equip and empower pastors in the more remote areas of Nepal and India to be more effective in seeing their communities come to Christ. A key focus is on training up groups of pastors who in turn are able to train up other groups of pastors. (2 timothy 2:2)

H. RESOURCING PASTORS

At each pastor’s seminar and workshop all those who have attended are given a set of evangelical lutheran church of Nepal training manuals. Given that many of the remote village pastors in Nepal and India have had little Bible college training, providing the pastors with these training manuals is a key part of our mission’s vision at Christian witness ministries for Nepal.

I. VISION FOR NEPAL

Overview: working together with the local national pastors, training up key pastors who will be able to hold one-week pastors training workshops throughout Nepal and northeast India. Part of the focus of these workshops will also be to help equip local pastors to run a six-month evangelism training course for their own church members and for other pastors and Christians within their region. The apostle paul wrote, "And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." (2 timothy 2:2verse) To help train up groups of 1000 pastors in different regions of Nepal and northeast India, to run one-week workshops for other village pastors in the areas that they come from. The initial focus is to equip these 300 pastors to train up further groups of 300 pastors. A proposed structure for one-week workshops has been put together to help these pastors to run effective workshops after completing this training.
